Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports cap 2020 with top-ten during Tennessee road trip

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FOREST, Ohio (October 19, 2020) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports capped their 2020 campaign with a road trip south of the Mason Dixon, this time joining the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS Series) for a two-day visit to Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tennessee, on Friday and Saturday, October 16-17.

Although not ending their trek to foreign territory on top, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports did their best to provide competitiveness during their weekend road trip and secured one top-ten finish, opening their stay in the Volunteer State with an eighth-place performance on Friday. The Forest, Ohio-based race team concluded the Mason Dixon Challenge doubleheader with a 15th-place run on Saturday.

“It was a tough weekend, but it’s nothing to shake our heads at. It was a fun trip and hopefully we have the opportunity to do it again in the future. Now that we know what to expect, I’d like another shot at it,” Matt Westfall said, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall and this entire team enough for their hard work in 2020. Ray is a special guy; he believes in me and he believes in this team. He makes all of the results possible.”

Despite adapting to a dysfunctional schedule as the result of early season COVID-19 restrictions, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will hit the off-season with a load of success to their credit, scoring four victories since July 17 and doing so at three different facilities across two states. Westfall, the 2019 BOSS Series champion, accomplished victories at Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Indiana, on July 17, Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, on August 29, and at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, on September 25 and October 9. The victories at Kokomo Speedway and I-96 Speedway (9/25) were earned during BOSS action, raising Westfall’s BOSS win total to ten in three seasons; four in 2018, four in 2019 and two in 2020.

With all results considered, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports concluded the 2020 BOSS campaign second in the Series standings, simultaneously accomplishing a fifth-place result in Gas City’s weekly point championship.

“We were competitive on all levels in 2020,” Westfall added. “It was a weird year considering how things started out, but to come out of the quarantine and still accomplish what we did says so much about this team and our focus level. It was an easy year to get distracted and lose our focus, but we never did. I’m proud of this team and I’m already looking forward to next season.”

News and updates pertaining to Ray Marshall Motorsports’ 2021 plans will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Fans are encouraged to stay alert for further details.

Danny Dietrich scores lucky 13 during Lincoln Speedway finale

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (October 19, 2020) – For the 13th time of 2020, and for the eighth time in the Pigeon Hills, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich is a main event winner aboard the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car, most recently finding his way to victory lane during Lincoln Speedway’s season finale on Saturday, October 17.

Earning $4,000 in the process, Dietrich’s evening at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway was not only prosperous, but also impressive, earning his victory from the outside of six. The former Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway track champion took command of the 30-lap contest with ten circuits remaining and never looked back, securing his place on the A-Main grid by way of runner-up finish in his respective heat race.

“That was awesome,” Danny Dietrich said, who owns victories at Monarch Motor Speedway, Selinsgrove Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Trail-Way Speedway, and Grandview Speedway in addition to Lincoln. “We’re out here to do one thing and that’s win races. That wouldn’t be possible without everyone who helps this team. It takes a lot of work during the week to be successful on the weekends. We still have a few starts left on our calendar so we’re going to do what we can to go out on top.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will cap their 2020 season with three weekends of competition; a Saturday night visit to BAPS Motor Speedway on October 24, the World of Outlaws Last Call at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on November 6-7, and the Sprint Showdown finale at BAPS Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 14.

2020 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: 6846 points | Third (82-points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 19, 2020) – In the final multi-destination weekend of the 2020 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing put together a consistent campaign, this time securing back-to-back top-ten performances including a podium run during the second edition of the Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday, October 17.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Advance Professional/Carquest Auto Parts/Technet Professional Automotive Service/Ford Performance/Mobil 1/Sage Fruit/Curb Records/Absolute Automation & Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Digital Ally/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car, was almost perfect during Lake Ozark’s Jason Johnson tribute. The ten-time World of Outlaws champion ignited his evening by recording the second fastest time during qualifying time trials, finishing second during heat race action soon thereafter. Schatz eventually finished third in the $15,000-to-win main event, bouncing ahead one spot while out dueling the likes of Aaron Reutzel, Sheldon Haudenschild and Kerry Madsen.

“It was a guessing game of what was going to happen when they redid the track there for the Feature,” Schatz said of Lake Ozark. “It got really fast on the top and kind of took everything away from the bottom. Kind of thought that’s where it was going to go, so that’s the direction we went. We tightened the car up and got laid over a little too much.”

In total, Schatz advanced seven feature positions during his Kansas/Missouri road trip, kicking things off with a rally from 14th to eighth during his Lakeside Speedway start on Friday, October 16. The Fargo, North Dakota-native earned his way into Lakeside’s feature program with a fourth-place result during his respective heat race.

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their quest toward the 2020 World of Outlaws championship with a visit to Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, on Saturday, October 24. Schatz will enter Kokomo’s gates third in the Series driver championship chase trailing defending World of Outlaws champion and current point leader, Brad Sweet, by 82 markers. Mathematically speaking, Schatz is not out of the hunt for an 11th Series title.

San Jose, California’s Tim Kaeding manned the wheel of Tony Stewart’s familiar No. 14 during the two-day World of Outlaws swing through Kansas and Missouri and helped Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing double their success rate. Kaeding capped the two-race weekend with his own pair of top-ten results, headlining the weekend with a fourth-place run at Lakeside Speedway. The third-generation racer went on to finish seventh at Lake Ozark after starting 11th.

Michael 12th with All Stars during Ford Classic opener at Fremont

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FREMONT, Ohio (October 12, 2020) – An event circled on his calendar since its announcement, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael spent the recent weekend competing in the two-day Jim and Joanne Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway, joining Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions for their final program of the 2020 season. Certainly no stranger to action with “America’s Series,” Michael highlighted his weekend at “The Track That Action Built” with a 12th-place finish on Friday, October 9, solidifying his spot in the 35-lap preliminary with a third-place outcome during his respective heat race.

Despite a solid start to their weekend, T.J. Michael and Michael Motorsports missed main event competition during the $10,000-to-win Ford Classic finale on Saturday, October 10. Buried in the B-Main, a stout field and tricky track conditions made it too difficult to recover; Michael finished 12th.

With his race team headquartered in Fremont, Ohio, the Plano, Texas-native has been an active participant with the traveling All Stars, underlined with a top-ten during Attica Ambush action over Labor Day weekend.

“We’re getting more and more comfortable at Fremont and that makes my job a lot easier. We didn’t have the results we were looking for on Saturday, but we won’t let that take away our finish on Friday,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports, Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kear’s Speed Shop, Wings Unlimited, Big D’s Pizza, No. 8M sprint car. “I’m not sure what we have planned ahead. We may head to Kokomo in two weeks but only time will tell. Regardless, it was a fun year and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished.”

The “Texas Traveler” will continue, and possibly conclude, his 2020 season with a visit to Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, on Saturday, October 24. Michael will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series during his visit to the Hoosier State, working hard to extend his stat sheet and accomplish a top-ten with the Greatest Show On Dirt.

Danny Dietrich scores Outlaw podium during Nittany Showdown opener

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (October 12, 2020) – “Double-D” Danny Dietrich was just one position shy of a World of Outlaws triumph on Friday night at the Port Royal “Speed Palace,” opening the two-day Nittany Showdown at Port Royal Speedway with a runner-up performance after starting in the exact same position. Forced to chase Elk Grove, California’s Kyle Larson the entire distance, Dietrich had an opportunity to overtake the top spot during a late restart, but the mission was missed. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native earned his way into the feature program by winning his respective heat race, eventually finishing second in the evening’s dash.

Although missing the top-ten, Dietrich’s route to finish 13th during the Nittany Showdown finale was most impressive, first winning the evening’s Last Chance Showdown before rallying from 21st to settle into 13th. The former Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway champion was forced to compete in the Last Chance Showdown after finishing tenth in his Saturday night heat race; an issue with tire bleeders caused Dietrich to lose any potential to transfer.

“I think we were good enough to get Larson on Frida, we just didn’t have enough opportunities to make it work,” Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car. “Saturday’s outcome was a far cry from what we were working toward, but regardless, it was a good recovery and I’m proud of our efforts. We’re heading back to Lincoln on Saturday so we’ll do what we can to get a win there.”

Danny Dietirch and Gary Kauffman Racing will help Lincoln Speedway close their doors for the season with Champions Night on Saturday, October 17. Dietrich is a seven-time winner in the Pigeon Hills in 2020, most recently sweeping the Bob Leiby Memorial double feature program on September 5. Still three victories shy of his 2019 total, Dietrich will enter the Lincoln Speedway finale with 12 wins on the season, two against Tony Stewart’s All Stars.

Matt Westfall sweeps Roll the Dice opener at I-96 Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FOREST, Ohio (October 12, 2020) – It was a weekend to remember for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, not only securing their fourth victory of the 2020 season, but doing so in dominating fashion during Great Lakes Traditional Sprints (GLTS) competition at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan.

Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, acquired his weekend victory during the Roll the Dice Invitational opener on Friday night, October 9, and snagged a $1,500 payday in the process; Westfall and Ray Marshall’s second I-96 Speedway win since September 25. Impressive enough, Westfall swept the entire program, first setting the fastest time during qualifying time trials then winning his respective heat race.

Nearly sweeping the entire weekend, Westfall concluded his visit to I-96 for the Roll the Dice Invitational with a third-place performance on Saturday, forced to recover from an early incident that resulted in Westfall climbing from the tail to finish on the podium.

“What a weekend,” Westfall said, who owns victories at Gas City I-69 Speedway and Kokomo Speedway in addition to his pair at I-96 Speedway. “That was a lot of fun. We had some recent success at I-96, so we had a pretty solid notebook already built up around that place. We were fast right out of the box and that ended up being the theme for much of our weekend. I just can’t say enough about everyone involved, Ray Marshall included. He gives us what we need to be competitive and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of his race team.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2020 campaign with a pair of Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) starts in the Volunteer State, concluding the Series schedule at the Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tennessee, on Friday and Saturday, October 16-17. Certainly foreign territory, the trip to Tennessee will be a first for Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports in 2020.

Stewart, driver of the Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Mobil 1/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Carquest/TechNet Professional Automotive Service/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Absolute Automation & Security/Digital Ally/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car, earned his way into Friday’s main event with a third place finish during his respective heat race.
