Bova Looks to Rebound after Tough Night at Attica, Mercer Raceway Park on Deck

STRUTHERS, Oh. (May 17, 2016) – Cody Bova’s rookie campaign on the JLH General Contractors FAST 305 Series presented by Engine Pro trail has been a learning experience. The Struthers, Ohio, native has made two starts with the series in 2016, qualifying for one main event which resulted in a 14th place performance at Fremont Speedway. Despite the tough start, Bova will remain optimistic, searching for a fresh start on Saturday at Mercer Raceway Park.
“We have some things to work on, but we’ll get there,” explained Cody Bova, pilot of the Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, Gressman Powersports, No. 20B. “We had a tough start last Friday at Attica. Had to start deep in the heat and just couldn’t get rolling. My guys gave me a great car for the B-main, but didn’t have enough time to get to a transfer spot. Regardless, we’re still learning. The car is almost where it needs to be, we just need more laps at Attica.”
Bova, a full-time competitor with the FAST 305 Series in 2016, will spend his off weekend from FAST Series commitments in action at Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday, May 21. The defending track champion at the Mercer, Pennsylvania, oval earned five victories at the short track in 2015, and will hunt for his first win of 2016 this Saturday night.
“We enjoy getting the opportunity to race back at Mercer,” said Bova. “We know our way around that place pretty well. Gives us an opportunity to work out some kinks before getting back to FAST action. I can’t thank my crew enough for what they do for me. It takes a lot of work to put a team together and keep it maintained. I owe them a win soon, so I’ll work to make that happen on Saturday.”
