MYERSTOWN, Pa. (March 4, 2019) – It was not the week Brent Marks wanted in ‘Fabulous’ Las Vegas, but the ‘Myerstown Missile’ did display some perseverance, actually highlighting his two-day stint at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas with an impressive rally from deep to finish just outside of the top-ten.

Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, visited The Dirt Track at Las Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday, February 27 & 28, officially kicking off the annual West Coast Swing with the Greatest Show On Dirt that includes well-over a month of competition in areas of Nevada, California and Arizona.

Despite only qualifying for one of two feature events contested in Las Vegas, Marks displayed promise and rallied from 26th to finish 11th on Wednesday nearly claiming the evening’s KSE Hard Charger Award. The impressive improvement was conducted with little momentum, as Marks was forced to utilize a World of Outlaws provisional starting position after not qualifying for main event action on his own.

A throttle malfunction during heat race action was the culprit, forcing Marks to retire and eventually compete in the B-main.

“We are struggling right now, but we still have a few shining moments that we can be proud of,” Brent Marks explained, a third-year traveler with the World of Outlaws. “All we can do is take things one race at a time. We proved to the world on multiple occasions that we can overcome bad starting positions for positive results. We just really need to work on our qualifying and heat race efforts. We’ll get there soon enough.”

Brent Marks and Brent Marks Racing will continue their 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a two-day visit to Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., on Friday and Saturday, March 8 & 9. The Tulare visit will launch a California sweep that consists of eight events in 2019, thus taking up the entire month of March.
