Tony Stewart Store and Tony Stewart Foundation Unite to #DoItForGrady

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (February 28, 2020) – Tony Stewart Store, the official apparel and merchandise supplier of Tony Stewart Racing, Eldora Speedway, and Smoke, is pleased to announce that ten percent of combined sales collected throughout the entire month of March via online store portals and traveling merchandise trailer will be donated directly to Grady Chandler’s recovery fund and family.

In addition, Tony Stewart Foundation, an organization that provides grant funding to well-qualified organizations serving children who are critically ill or physically disabled; animals at-risk or endangered; and drivers injured in the sport of motor racing, has agreed to match the ten percent gained, which will also be donated directly to Grady Chandler.

Chandler (19) was injured in a non-wing sprint car accident during a USAC event at Creek County Speedway in Creek County, Oklahoma, on July 26. The Piedmont, Oklahoma-native suffered fractures in many of his vertebrae including his C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5.

Scheduled to be discharged from an Atlanta hospital on March 3, an issue resurfaced with his coccyx, an injury sustained during the incident at Creek County Speedway, which has forced Chandler to resort to bedrest for the next several months, or until the issue heals. Once the issue heals, Chandler can proceed with therapy. As a result, Chandler’s family has decided to uproot from Oklahoma and move to Atlanta until Chandler’s medical issues have been resolved.

“The last thing we ever want to hear about is a racer getting hurt, but when times like that occur, the best response we can give is support,” Tony Stewart explained. “Grady’s bravery and willingness to never give up is truly inspiring. It’s stories like his that make us want to get involved and do our part in pushing Grady toward a healthy and speedy recovery.”

The ten percent total sales tally will begin Sunday, March 1, and extend through Tuesday, March 31. Any apparel updates and/or specials will be posted online, as well as on social media.

Michalski recovers to finish 14th during Lincoln’s Icebreaker

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PENNDEL, Pa. (February 24, 2020) – Brett Michalski opened his 2020 campaign like many others in the Central PA racing scene and made the trip to the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway for the annual Icebreaker 30 on Saturday, February 22. Although Michalski’s end-result was outside of the top-ten, crossing the line 14th at the conclusion of the 30-lap, $4,000-to-win program, it was the path to obtain that result that was most impressive, ultimately forced to go to the tail twice before recovering to finish four spots out of the top ten.

Michalski, driver of the Brett Michalski Motorsports/JR Michalski Heating & Air Conditioning/Irish Rover Station House/York by Johnson Controls/Wood Services/Richboro Pub/Maxim Chassis/Don Ott Racing Engines/Kriner Engines/Penske Shocks/VP Racing Fuels/Hoosier Tire/Wings Unlimited/Racer’s Used and New Parts Warehouse/CR Graphix/SC Signs/Pyrotect/Hinchman Indy/No. 73B sprint car, kicked-off his evening in the Pigeon Hills with a sixth place finish during his respective heat race.

Danny Dietrich opens 2020 PA season with Lincoln Speedway Icebreaker win

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (February 24, 2020) – It was a dominant afternoon in the Pigeon Hills for ‘Double-D’ Danny Dietrich, eventually sweeping the afternoon program and scoring a second-ever Icebreaker 30 crown, earning $4,000 in the process.

Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/ Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet, Buick, GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car, started third on the feature grid, earning his way into the 30-lap program by way of heat race victory. The former Lincoln Speedway track champion, as well as defending Central Pennsylvania sprint car champion, took command of the feature field on lap 12 and never looked back, utilizing Ryan Smith’s misfortune before surviving late-race surges by Logan Schuchart and Freddie Rahmer. Smith led the first 11 circuits before making contact with the turn two wall and opening the door for Dietrich.

“I’m really proud of this team. We had a pretty demanding Florida schedule this year, but to come home and regroup and score a win during our first start of the year in Pennsylvania says so much. Our goal is to keep this going and better our 2020 win count,” Danny Dietrich said, a 15-time winner in 2020 including three at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway. “I just want to thank all of the fans for coming out and showing their support. The crowd was unbelievable.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports unveil big plans for 2020

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FOREST, Ohio (February 20, 2020) – With a pair of USAC National Sprint Car starts at Bubba Raceway Park already under their belts, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports are pleased to unveil their entire slate for the 2020 season, complete with Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS), Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) and USAC National Sprint Car starts across much of the Midwest and Northeast. The bulk of their 2020 campaign will begin on March 28 during the BOSS Series opener at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio.

“We put a lot of time into building this schedule. I think it fits our team perfectly and we’re excited to get started,” Matt Westfall explained, the 2019 BOSS Series champion with Ray Marshall Motorsports. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team enough for this opportunity. Ray has a lot of confidence in our program and we’ve proved over and over again that we can be competitive on all levels. I think there are a lot of good times ahead for us.”

Although the team will not dedicate their efforts toward any specific series nor championship, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will battle for many of the sport’s most prestigious and sought-after prizes including Eldora’s #LetRaceTwo and 4-Crown Nationals titles. In addition, the Forest, Ohio-based race team plans to enter most of the USAC Indiana Sprint Week schedule – six stops including one that has yet to be decided – as well as the annual Eastern Storm schedule in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Knoxville Raceway’s Cornbelt Nationals and Kokomo Speedway’s legendary Smackdown are also marquee events on Westfall’s agenda.

“It’s going to be an exciting season for our team. We have a lot in store, but I’m confident we’ll be ready,” explained Ray Marshall, owner of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “We’re excited to have Matt Westfall back behind the wheel of the Bumblebee Express. There are great things ahead for us.”

If a full slate of non-wing competition with Ray Marshall Motorsports was not enough, Matt Westfall will also participate in multiple USAC Silver Crown events under the Westfall Motorsports banner, as well as SpeedSTR programs in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

“I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to race multiple divisions in 2020, so I want to take full advantage of that,” Westfall continued. “Hopefully we can find success on all levels.”

Trevor Baker will focus on 30-race agenda in 2020

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

SHREVE, Ohio (February 20, 2020) – With much of his focus molded so close to his work commitments, Shreve, Ohio’s Trevor Baker has decided to take a slight step back in 2020 and build a schedule unlike years prior, as only 30 events made the cut for Baker’s upcoming agenda, many of which high-profile and within the Buckeye State.

Baker, pilot of the familiar T-Rev Performance/Baker’s Mobile Home Transport/No. 45 sprint car, will kick start his season with the Attica Raceway Park opener on Friday, March 20. From there, the recent Sharon Speedway feature winner will spend his weekends bouncing back and forth between events at Attica, Wayne County Speedway, Atomic Speedway, and Sharon Speedway.

With not only local starts in mind, Baker will also join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and All Star Circuit of Champions during their visits to Ohio.

In addition, Baker plans to join the World of Outlaws during each of their visits to Eldora Speedway in 2020, as well as follow the All Star Circuit of Champions to each Ohio Sprint Speedweek stop, if work permits.

“We’ve been very busy at work and it’s hard for me to not focus on that. I want to race, but keeping up with my job and keeping that the first priority will never change,” Trevor Baker explained. “We still have a lot of races on our plate. As of right now, 30 stand out, although we haven’t really written them all out yet. We know where we want to spend the most of our time, but I’m sure we’ll be bouncing around. I’m excited to get started.”

Baker will enter 2020 with a heavy dose of positive momentum, recently earning the Apple Festival Nationals victory at Sharon Speedway on September 21.

“It wasn’t our last race of the year, but to get a win that late in the season really helped keep us motivated all winter,” Baker said of his Sharon Speedway victory. “We love racing at Sharon Speedway and I’m sure we’ll be there whenever possible this year.”

(February 17, 2020) – Despite a rocky start to his 2020 campaign that was plagued with poor luck and discouraging outcomes during DIRTcar Nationals competition at Volusia Speedway Park, the ‘Jonestown Jet’ Brock Zearfoss rebounded in a big way during his East Bay Raceway Park visit and concluded his near-two week Florida trip with four-straight top-ten finishes including a top-five during the $10,000-to-win King of the 360’s finale on Saturday, February 15. Up until that point, Zearfoss’ best results were a trio of 19th-place scores during All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws action at Volusia Speedway Park.

Zearfoss, driver of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./C&D Rigging Inc./BAPS Auto Paints & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/Klick Lewis Cars/No. 3Z sprint car, finished fourth twice during East Bay’s King of the 360’s program, kicking things off with a fourth-place performance during Thursday’s preliminary program.

After rain ruined the evening on Friday, Zearfoss returned to the Tampa-area venue on Saturday and found himself locked into an A-Main starting position after concluding Thursday’s program within the top-six of the event’s overall standings. By way of blind draw, the former Port Royal Speedway track champion started fifth on the finale grid and advanced once position by feature’s end.

Before King of the 360’s action commenced on Thursday, Zearfoss joined the All Star Circuit of Champions at East Bay Raceway Park on Monday and Tuesday, February 10-11, and participated in the first-ever Jean Lynch Classic presented by Winn-Dixie. Zearfoss capped his two-day stretch with ninth and eighth-place finishes, respectively.

“All in all, it was a great trip for our team. We had a few nights that didn’t go our way, but we really didn’t have anything to lose. The All Stars didn’t race for points and that alleviated a lot of pressure. The lap time will prove to be very beneficial during the coming months,” Brock Zearfoss said, a three-time All Star Circuit of Champions winner in 2019 who will return to the Series full-time in 2020. “I can’t thank Tye and Shane enough for their hard work. Racing that much is never easy, especially with little to no time off in between starts. I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without them.”

Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2020 campaign with a Saturday afternoon visit to the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway on February 22. The annual ‘Icebreaker’ will headline action in the Pigeon Hills awarding a $4,000 top prize.
