YORK, Pa. (October 7, 2019) – Despite being forced to utilize a Williams Grove Speedway track provisional to earn an A-Main starting position during National Open preliminary competition on Friday, York’s Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports stepped-up and rebounded big during the $65,000-to-win finale on Saturday and earned their way into the big dance, solidifying their A-Main starting position by finishing third during their respective heat race.

Although a flat tire during the evening’s feature would cut Haas’ main event potential short, the speed was present and the team’s potential was more than obvious.

“It was a great weekend for our team. I can’t thank John Trone enough for all that he does. You’re not going to find a field of cars better anywhere in the country, and to earn our way in says a lot,” Cory Haas said, driver of John Trone’s Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Old Republic Distillery/York PB Truss/Wicked Cushion/Bricker’s/No. 39 sprint car. “It has been a long season, but we showed a lot of speed at a lot of different times. I foresee a lot more wins in the future.”

Tentative plans for Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports include a trip to Port Royal Speedway for Open Wheel Madness on Saturday, October 19. Other plans include a possible World of Outlaws attempt at Port Royal on Friday and Saturday, October 25 & 26.
