Danny Dietrich recovers for top-ten during 51st Tuscarora 50

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (October 29, 2018) – Danny Dietrich’s 2018 season is officially in the books.

Although concluding the year off of the podium, Dietrich’s performance during the 51st running of the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway was impressive, ultimately rallying from an early race flat to finish well inside the top-ten. For Dietrich, the top-ten performance propelled his season total to 52, 33 of which inside the top-five. In addition, the driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing machine earned ten victories in 2018, most recently scoring a mark in the win column during action at BAPS Motor Speedway.

Including his BAPS triumph in September, Dietrich amassed two wins at the York Haven oval this season, also accumulating victories during starts at Lincoln Speedway (5), Port Royal Speedway (2), and Williams Grove Speedway (1).

“The second-half of our season was frustrating at times, but we still managed to put together a lot of great results,” Danny Dietrich said. “I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work and support in 2018. I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish. We went through a lot this season, from happiness to heartache, but it was a great ride. All we can do now is begin rebuilding for next year.”

Danny Dietrich finished seventh on Sunday afternoon at Port Royal Speedway and earned his way into the 50-lap, $51,000-to-win program by winning his respective heat race. With track conditions playing in his favor, Dietrich was in contention to win the big payday, only to be denied on lap 17 by a cut tire. Dietrich returned to the speedway to finish the event, eventually battling his way forward for a top-ten performance.

“I think we were going to be OK, but that’s just how our luck has been,” Dietrich continued. “All we can do now is move forward and work to win it next year.”
