GETTYSBURG, Pa. (June 3, 2019) – In dramatic fashion, ‘Double-D’ Danny Dietrich scored his seventh victory of the 2019 season on Friday evening, May 31, utilizing momentum to orchestrate a final lap, final corner takeover to earn the win at Williams Grove Speedway. Dylan Cisney, who led the first 24 and three-quarter laps at The Grove on Friday night, fell short of Dietrich by less than a second.
The victory bumped Dietrich’s 2019 Williams Grove Speedway win total to two, now with a commanding lead in the Williams Grove Speedway driver standings; nearly 400 points separating himself from one-time winner, Freddie Rahmer.
“That was fun. This car has been so good lately and I owe that all to my crew. They work their tails off and I appreciate everything they do for me. They make my job look easy, that’s for certain,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “We have four races on our radar for this weekend. I’m not too sure where we are going to end up yet, but four is the plan.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2019 campaign with a quadruple-header through areas of Pennsylvania and New York during the coming weekend, kicking things off with a Thursday night visit to BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pa., on June 6, followed by a return to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, June 7.
Dietrich’s Saturday destination has yet to be determined, but initial plans indicate either a trip to Stateline (N.Y.) Speedway with the All Star Circuit of Champions, or a short jaunt to Port Royal Speedway for Twin-20’s competition, each awarding a $3,000 top prize.
‘Double-D’ will cap the weekend with All Star Circuit of Champions competition at the state-of-the-art Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., on Sunday, June 9.
