YORK SPRINGS, Penna., Monday, March 26, 2012 – Darwin Doll and Davey Brown, Sr., have joined the list of celebrities for the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing Phase IV Grand Opening on Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1, 2012.

Doll, a veteran National Hot Rod Association Regional Director, has coordinated an all-new drag racing display in the museum calling on his many friends and contacts for help. As with all of the exhibits within the museum covering different motorsport arenas, the new drag racing display helps tell the story of the history of drag racing in the Eastern United States. Headlining the new area will be the Jungle Jim Lieberman funny car, the Dave Strickler Old Reliable 1963 Chevy, and the Bruce Larson Mr. Clean altered.

Veteran engine builder and crew chief Davey Brown, Sr. will be reunited with former drivers Johnny Mackison, Sr., Lynn Paxton, and Doug Wolfgang on Sunday. Brown’s resume includes time spent working with many great eastern racers, but some of his biggest moments came with Mackison, Paxton, and Wolfgang. He and Mackison raced coupes and the early NASCAR circuit at famous tracks like Darlington and Martinsville. Brown’s engines propelled Paxton to his two Williams Grove National Open wins in 1982 and 1983. In 1984 Brown teamed with car owner Bob Weikert and driver Doug Wolfgang to win two Knoxville Nationals and three Williams Grove National Open titles over the next three years.

Activities at the now nearly 20,000 square foot Eastern Museum of Motor Racing will begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and will include special guests State Senator Rich Alloway, keynote speaker National Funny Car Champion Bruce Larson, veteran drag racing announcer George Nye, Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, and the widow of Pro Stock legend, Mrs. Ronnie Sox.
