York, PA – Although Cory Haas did not have quite the results he was looking for this past Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, he did benefit from some experimentation. The York, Pennsylvania native, who in recent years switched into ‘410’ sprint car racing full time from the ‘358’ ranks, finished 19th at the Williams Grove Speedway “Opener” on 3/23/12 – with much of the evening’s bad luck resulting from a bad pill draw at the beginning of the night. The former ‘358’ track champion at Williams Grove failed to qualify for the evening’s ‘410’ main event by way of heat race finish, forcing the 11C to compete in one of the evening’s two consolation B-mains. He would transfer into the evening’s 25 lap feature from the B-main, where he would rally in the non-stop event to finish 19th.

“We had a bad draw on Friday night and its tough to start in the back here (Williams Grove Speedway) and get to the front…especially in a heat race” explained Haas after reviewing his Friday night results, “we experimented with some things and we learned quite a bit…so the weekend wasn’t a complete loss!”

Next weekend, the MB Builder Developer 11C program will head to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday evening, before venturing into the Pigeon Hills on Saturday for a night at Lincoln Speedway. This upcoming Friday and Saturday will also be Haas’ first double-race weekend of the year. Lincoln Speedway’s event yesterday (3/24/12) was cancelled due to wet and rainy conditions; thus, only allowing Haas to have one night of competition. The Fully Injected teammate currently sits ninth in the Lincoln Speedway point’s chase – while his disappointing finish at Williams Grove Speedway this past Friday night left him 19th in the current standings.
