Pittsburgh, PA – Pittsburgh native Danny Holtgraver took advantage of a perfect pill draw and a perfect last lap pass Friday evening, March 23rd, at Williams Grove Speedway to earn himself a ninth place finish among a very stout field of 44 Central Pennsylvania sprint car competitors. The Kargo Quality Cars/Alternative Power Sources ‘D4’ held off charges by former World of Outlaws competitor, Daryn Pittman, and former Knoxville Nationals champion, Tim Shaffer, to solidify himself inside the top 10 of Friday night’s Williams Grove Speedway opening night, 25 lap feature.

“We were really pleased with our results” explained Holtgraver when discussing Friday night’s top 10 finish, “I mean, to go out there with 40 other cars of that caliber and grab a top 10…it is just an awesome feeling!”

The former Lernerville Speedway Track Champion passed Chad Layton on the last circuit to grab the ninth position. He raced in the tenth spot for much of the non-stop 25 lap main event before catching Layton, and passing the Middleswarth no. 7 in the last corner. Danny Dietrich was the event winner; with Brian Montieth and Fred Rahmer rounding out the top three finishers.

As for next weekend, the scenery for Holtgraver will change once again. With the All-Star Circuit of Champions making a scheduled stop at the always exciting Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on April 6th and 7th, the Pittsburgh based ‘D4’ team has decided to make an appearance at the Attica Raceway Park “Opener” this weekend, March 30th, to give the team a chance to ‘dial-in.’ The All-Star event at Attica in two weeks is also the first “Ohio Region” event on the 2012 schedule – a portion of the All-Star tour that Holtgraver plans to follow. Hopefully a trip to Attica a week early will help build some early momentum towards an All-Star regional championship.

“The plan right now is to head to Attica Raceway Park this Friday for their opener” quoted Holtgraver, “that place (Attica) is so awesome and we have an All-Star race coming up there in two weeks so we want to be ready.”

Gates are scheduled to open at Attica Raceway Park this Friday, March 30th, at 5PM with racing slated to begin at 7:45PM. The 410 sprint cars will be joined by the UMP Late Models and 305 sprinters.
