Home Sweet Home: Jared Miley eyes Pittsburgher 100 prize!

PITTSBURGH (October 5, 2016) – A short trip with a $20,000 potential would be the ideal scenario for any race team. For Jared Miley, that is exactly the case.
For the 28th time since its inception, the Pittsburgher 100 will take over Western Pennsylvania oval track headlines this Friday and Saturday, October 7-8, welcoming the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series during their invasion of Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for a shot a $20,000.
Joining the national-level contenders will be Western Pennsylvania’s finest super late model competitors, including former P.P.M.S. champion and regional touring ace Jared Miley. Miley, a former Lernerville Speedway and ULMS Racing Series champion to go along with his PPMS title, will battle the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regulars during the entire Pittsburgher 100 program, ultimately searching for the largest payday of his career, as well as a first-ever victory at the national level.
“Pressure? No. I don’t feel any pressure. We’ve been ready for this event all season,” Jared Miley explained when discussing the upcoming weekend on home dirt. “If anything, I feel like we are well overdue to earn a win in a national event like this. I think we have the potential and the knowledge to get it done.. I’m excited for the weekend to begin. Just the fact that we get to race close to home, in front of our home fans and family, is enough to be excited about. We’re ready.”
Jared Miley will enter the weekend showstopper with six super late model victories on the season, most recently scoring a ULMS win at Eriez Speedway in Erie, Pennsylvania, worth $6,000.
“Momentum is key for an event like the Pittsburgher 100. You have to be ready and your attitude has to be right. Having a few wins, a recent win at that, is important,” Miley explained. “We’ve been close on the national level before. Earning a major win like this close to home would be a major game changer for our team. Regardless, we’re going to have fun. That’s just as important as winning.”
