The World Series Sprintcars will spend two days, January 6th and 7th, at Archerfield Speedway (Brisbane International) this weekend for round no. 9 of the tour. 

American ASCS hotshoe, Jason Johnson, picked up the 20 lap ‘Australian Open’ preliminary feature win last night at Archerfield Speedway (Brisbane International) during round no. 9 of World Series Sprintcars action! This is Johnson’s first win of the season with the WSS.

Johnson held off former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Champion, Donny Schatz, and current WSS point leader and win leader, James McFadden, for the victory! Brooke Tatnell and Rico Abreu rounded out the top five. Thirty seven cars took the track for time trials. 

Other notable Amercian’s in competition last night with the World Series Sprintcars included defending All-Star Circuit of Champions title holder, Tim Shaffer (12th), and ASCS National Champion, Shane Stewart (DNS). 

The Finale of the two-day ‘Australian Open’ WSS event at Archerfield (Brisbane International) will take place this evening (Sat, Jan 7th in Australia)- with the same competitive car count expected.
