Joe Martin kicked-off his 2012 season in a bitter-sweet sense this Saturday and Sunday. The Ringgold, Pennsylvania native ventured south to the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania for the FASTRAK Northeast sanctioned Super Nationals I. Martin enjoyed success on Saturday night as he piloted his Martin Farms no. 55 crate to a heat race victory during preliminary competition. The redraw would put Martin ninth in the $3,000-to-win Super Nationals I starting line-up earlier this afternoon. The FASTRAK star would battle just inside the top ten for most of the 40 lap event before disaster struck on the last circuit; ending the JM2 Motorsports’ weekend one lap too soon! Martin would be involved in a last lap accident that resulted in the car being taken off the track by a hook.
