FREMONT, Ohio (October 14, 2019) – Despite falling short of matching his Rick Ferkel Classic result at Waynesfield Raceway Park, T.J. Michael’s outcome during the second running of the Bob Hampshire Classic was respectable in its own right, eventually ending his night 15th in the running order with 39 cars checked-in at the high-banked quarter-mile.

Michael, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Soul Fully Rooted/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car, kicked things off at Waynesfield with a third place performance during his respective heat race, setting the stage for his seventh row starting spot for the 50-lap/$5,630-to-win main event.

“We were confident heading into Saturday. Things just didn’t play out like they did last time,” T.J. Michael explained, who earned $5,000 by means of his Rick Ferkel Classic victory in early August. “Regardless, it was a great season. I can’t thank my team and my family enough for their hard work and dedication. We accomplished a lot of great results this summer. I’m confident things will only improve from here.”

Although his season in Ohio is complete, Michael is far from finished. In fact, the ‘Texas Traveler’ will continue his 2019 season with a two-race weekend in Texas, joining the ASCS National Tour during a two-day stint at Texas Motor Speedway on October 31 and November 1. With some added help from Mike Melton, Michael will attempt to earn a first-ever ASCS triumph during his campaign in The Lone Star State.
