FREMONT, Ohio (May 13, 2019) – The ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael found success at Sharon Speedway yet again, this time during FAST Series action with over 40 cars making the call.
Michael, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Soul Fully Rooted/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car, put together a near-flawless evening at the northeast Ohio facility on Saturday, May 11, ultimately concluding his appearance with an impressive rally from tenth to finish fifth during 25, caution-free laps.
If the end-result was not enough, Michael kicked off his evening at Sharon Speedway by recording the second fastest time during his respective time trial group, followed by a second place finish during his respective heat race. A redraw eventually set the lineup for the evening’s $3,000-to-win main event.
“We definitely had a car fast enough to win on Saturday, but the redraw kinda put us behind the eight ball early,” Michael explained, who also owns a sixth place finish at Sharon Speedway during All Star Circuit of Champions competition. “If we had a caution or two, I’m confident we could have climbed a few more spots and potentially contend for the win. Regardless, I can’t thank this team enough for their hard work and dedication. Scott and Chris gave me a great car. I was the lucky one who got to drive it.”
T.J. Michael will continue his 2019 campaign with a pair of Attica/Fremont Championship Series (AFCS) starts at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway on Friday and Saturday, May 17 & 18, respectively. The Plano, Texas-native, who spends his summer months in Fremont, Ohio, will enter the weekend with two top-ten finishes to his credit thus far in 2019, the first at Attica Raceway Park on April 6.
