Michael Earns Top-Ten at Millstream Speedway During All Star Visit, Ready for Major Labor Day Weekend Agenda
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FREMONT, OH (August 29, 2016) – For the seventh time in 2016, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael earned himself a top-ten finish during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition. The Arctic Cat All Star rookie contender finished eighth on Sunday evening, August 28, at the Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio, qualifying for the $5,000-to-win feature program after recording the eighth fastest time during qualifying time trials, all before finishing sixth during his respective heat race. The successful qualifying time also allowed Michael to start in the evening’s Arctic Cat All Star dash where he finished sixth, his second dash appearance of the season.
“We definitely turned our luck around,” Michael explained. “Last weekend wasn’t so pleasant for us, but this weekend was great. We were able to figure some things out and get myself a little more comfortable in the car. Ending the weekend with great qualifying times, two dash starts, and a top-ten finish says a ton about this race team and how hard they work. We are still new, we are still learning, but we don’t want to keep using that excuse. We want to keep working ourselves higher and higher in the results. We’re pretty pumped up to get the upcoming weekend started.”
In addition to his eighth place finish at Millstream Speedway, Michael finished 11th during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana, on Saturday night, August 27; his first ever appearance at the southern Indiana quarter-mile.
Up next on the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions schedule sits a pair of $10,000-to-win feature programs on Saturday and Sunday, September 3-4. Michael’s high dollar weekend will activate on Saturday evening, September 3, during the inaugural Dirt Classic Ohio at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. The Plano, Texas, native who now resides in Fremont, Ohio, is a former winner during 305 sprint car competition at the Attica highbanks, also scoring a fifth place performance during FAST 410 Series competition earlier this season.
Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, will host the second $10,000 showcase during Labor Day weekend on Sunday night, September 4. The Pete Jacobs Memorial will be the highlight attraction, the fourth and final Arctic Cat All Star appearance at “Orrville’s Historic Oval” in 2016. Like Attica Raceway Park, Michael is no stranger to action at Wayne County Speedway, finishing second during one round of 410 sprint car weekly action in 2015.
“I have a lot of people to thank for making this season happen,” Michael explained. “My family, sponsors, crew; they are the reason why I’m out here racing. It has been an amazing experience. It’s hard to believe that it is already September.”
