Port Royal – In order to honor Al Hamilton and Lynn Paxton, more than $50,000 in cash will be paid out at this year’s Living Legends Dream Race for sprint cars at Port Royal Speedway, coming up on Saturday August 4 at 7:30 pm.

Nearly $20,000 of that money will go to full purses that will be paid for a pair of 16-lap semi-features that will be run in order to set the 30-lap Dream A Main grid.

Each of the semis will pay $2,000 to win with the top 10 finishers from each transferring into the Dream A.

And the Dream A itself is posting over $30,000 in total purse money including $10,000 to win.

Add all of that money to the thousands in contingencies that are being gathered for distribution during the night and the unique event format and the whole affair is shaping up to be a dandy for both racers and fans alike.

For fans, a treat in itself will be the chance to essentially see four main events in one night including the Dream A, a pair of semi features and a B Main as well.

The format will see the odd and even finishers in time trials be split apart into respective 16-lap semis.

And from there, every position gained during each semi by a driver will serve to advance that driver into their Dream A starting spot for those who finish inside the top 10.

The balance of the semi fields finishing outside of the top 10 will fall back to the B Main with Dream starting positions 21 – 24 to be determined by its finish.

Plus, a fan voted 25th starter will be put into the Dream based on which non-qualifying driver in the B garners the most raucous response from the crowd.

Make plans now to be a part of the 2012 Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race.
