WAYCROSS, GA– Anticipation is growing for the 30th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100, presented by Lucas Oil Products. This mega crown jewel event will be held at the King’s Florence Speedway in Union, KY. The race will be held on August 9 -11th paying $50,000 to win and $2,500 to start. Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN has won this mega event for the past two years.
 
This year’s Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100, presented by Lucas Oil Products will include a Red Buck Cigars night on Friday night August 10th. Red Buck Cigars will sponsor a Dash for the top six drivers based on qualifying. After Red Buck Time Trials, there will be a complete show on Friday night. The top three qualifiers from Group A and the top three qualifiers from Group B will race in a 6-lap Red Buck Cigars Dash, paying $500 to the winner.
 
Following the activities on Friday night, Florence Speedway and Red Buck Cigars will present a fan/racer appreciation party at the race track. Red Buck Cigars will sponsor a concert from a dynamic band from Kentucky – “Borrowed Blue”. This band recently performed at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, TN and will perform their new single “Porch People”. Borrowed Blue is an up and coming band that is sure to kick off a great party at Florence Speedway, on Friday August 10th. There is no additional charge to attend the post-race party and event tickets will remain the normal price for the weekend.

Activities will get underway on Thursday night, August 9th, with an open practice session. The Gates will open at 5 PM and practice will last until 9 PM. Then, on Friday night, August 10th, the action will get underway with the Red Buck Cigars Time Trials for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The weekend will conclude on Saturday night, August 11th with heat races, B-Mains, and the 30th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100, presented by Lucas Oil Products. Before the racing action beings on Saturday night, the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Ceremonies will be held in front of the main grandstands, beginning at 6 PM.

Camping is allowed at the track – free of charge – during the North/South week and weekend. No hookups are available. The camping areas will be marked and site maps will be posted at the track. The largest camping area is outside turn 2. All camping spots are first come, first served.
 
Vendors interested in setting up at the North/South 100 must contact the track before the event to confirm their reservation. Due to sponsor commitments, vending space will be limited. All vendors must be approved in advance. Vendors showing up without contacting the track in advance will be turned away.
