Rod George of Kittanning, Pennsylvania is the most recent ‘410’ sprint car winner at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The long time veteran of ‘410’ sprint car competition in Western, and Central, Pennsylvania earned his first win of the 2012 season last Saturday night at the Mercer 3/8’s mile oval; just in time to gain some valuable momentum before the All-Star Circuit of Champions invasion next weekend! The All-Stars will host a $5,000-to-win program on Saturday evening, May 12th at Mercer Raceway Park; bringing along with them some top regional and national competitors such as David Gravel, Tim Shaffer, and Dale Blaney. George has seen All-Star victory lane twice in is impressive career; with the most recent win coming in 1988. 

“It’s been a long time!” expressed George when discussing his most recent win with the All-Stars, “I think it was back in 1988…we only ever won two All-Star events…one at Millstream and one at Sharon so needless to say, we are long over due!” 

George will driving the Dr. John Crawford/Kelsey George Racing ‘CIII’ this Saturday night. The Fully Injected driver has plenty of experience at Mercer Raceway Park; owning a track championship and 29 wins. George is 5th ‘All-Time’ on the sprint car wins list at Mercer Raceway Park; and one win behind former ‘CIII’ pilot, Jimmy Hawley.
