Rod George, with car owner John Crawford, in victory lane at Lernerville Speedway this past Friday night, July 6th!

Kittanning, PA – 7/9/12 } Kittanning, Pennsylvania native and Team Fully Injected veteran, Rod George, had a perfect weekend this past Friday and Saturday in Western Pennsylvania, as the long time veteran in ‘410’ sprint car competition swept action at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park. George, who is a former track champion at both Western Pennsylvania ovals, not only earned a feature win at both tracks this past Friday and Saturday, July 6th-7th, but also grabbed a win in each of his respective heat races; making the familiar ‘CIII’ 4-0 this past weekend. The victory at Lernerville Speedway this past Friday night, July 6th, was George’s first trip to Lernerville Speedway victory lane in roughly 2 years. The Dr. John Crawford, III /Kelsey George Racing entry had made one victory lane appearance at Mercer Raceway Park already in 2012; making this past Saturday’s (July 7th) victory no. 2 on the season for the ‘CIII’ sprinter at the Mercer 3/8’s mile oval.

The weekend sweep also allowed Rod George to build some momentum towards the rest of the 2012 season, and build solid ground towards two track championships. With this past weekend’s results included in the updated track point standings, the Dr. John Crawford, III/Kelsey George Racing ‘CIII’ currently sits second in the Lernerville Speedway Ti22 Performance sprint car point standings. George trails fellow Kittanning native and former multi-time Lernerville Speedway track champion, Kevin Schaeffer, by a mere 12 points. Schaeffer has lead the standings since the beginning of the 2012 season; only finishing outside of the top 5 once in weekly competition.

In the current Mercer Raceway Park point standings, George finds himself just inside the top five, but still within striking distance of the track championship. The Kittanning native currently sits 4th in the Mercer Raceway Park point standings; only 51 points behind leader, Eric Williams. Eric ‘Turkey’ Williams, Scott Priester, Mike Lutz, Rod George, and Jack Sodeman Jr. currently hold down the top five positions in the MRP sprint car standings.

The upcoming weekend will feature two more Western Pennsylvania stops for the Dr. John Crawford owned ‘CIII.’ George, and the entire ‘CIII’ team, will visit Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday night, July 13th, for a regular ‘Fab Four’ program. The weekend will then wrap up at Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania on Sunday night, July 15th, for the $3,000-to-win, Connor Bobik Memorial for the ‘410’ sprint cars. This rare appearance by the ‘410’ sprinters at Dog Hollow Speedway will be their first of two visits in 2012.
