RUSH CRATE ENGINE REBUILDER/TECH SEMINAR WELL RECEIVED; ATTENDEES FROM PA, OH, NY, MD & CANADA PARTICIPATED

(Pulaski, PA)…The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series held the inaugural Northeast Crate Racing Engine Rebuilder and Tech Seminar on Saturday, March 8 at Edmonds Diner in Lowellville, Ohio. The seminar took place over a five-hour period with both RUSH Competition Director Travis Harry and NeSmith Competition Director Tim Sims, who traveled 12 hours from his Georgia base, conducting the meeting.
Several longtime respected regional rebuilders were present and also shared a vast amount of knowledge and perspective from their professional standpoint. RUSH-sanctioned speedway tech officials had the opportunity to listen and watch numerous demonstrations of important tech procedures that they can apply to their weekly RUSH tech programs. Branding sponsor Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Pace Performance also provided the critical GM Circle Track Crate Engine Technical Manual.
Throughout the day, attendees were able to see visual examples of various GM crate engine parts, tech tools and teching demonstrations, tire sample and chain of custody explanations, discussions concerning the original GM seal bolt system and NeSmith engine seals along with numerous other pertinent topics. Those present were also given informational packets for future reference that contained detailed written information that had been discussed and demonstrated throughout the afternoon.
“I cannot tell you how thrilled we were to have the great turn out of both rebuilders and tech officials from throughout the Northeast attend our meeting,” stated Vicki Emig. “Many of these individuals traveled several hours to participate. Their attendance truly showed their commitment to preserving the integrity and future of crate racing throughout our region. I am so proud of the open lines of communication that are now in place between all concerned parties and it is something that everyone involved in crate racing in our area will benefit from.”
The following Authorized NeSmith/RUSH Engine Rebuilders were in attendance: Blackshear Automotive’s Don Blackshear, Campbell’s Engine’s Bill & Betsy Campbell of New York, Cresep Machine’s Dean Yatchyshyn from Maryland, Ingram Performance’s Mike Ingram, Race 1’s Brad Hibbard, and 955 Automotive’s Jason Ore. Tech officials from not only RUSH-sanctioned speedways, but others, including some regional asphalt tracks were also present in addition to potential Authorized Engine Rebuilder Jamie Friedline of Jennerstown Engine Technology.
“There were a lot of new faces in the audience,” continued Emig. “A great example of this was recently authorized Luke Bailey of Luke’s Auto Machine, who made the four-hour trip down from Canada to take part. It was great to see him conversing not only with Travis and Tim, but other respected engine builder in our region. Troy Shuknecht, the new promoter of Freedom Speedway in New York, also traveled several hours to attend, showing his commitment to his racers to start his RUSH Late Model program off on the right foot.”
At the conclusion of the seminar, through the efforts of both RUSH and NeSmith Series Officials, RUSH-sanctioned speedway tech officials, and authorized rebuilder/repair facilities there is little doubt that a strong network of individuals interested in the future and betterment of crate racing throughout the Northeast region under the RUSH banner is in place.
All other RUSH-sanctioned speedways’ tech officials and authorized rebuild/repair facilities that were unable to attend will receive the seminar informational packets in the near future.
