Sam Hafertepe Jr. turned a runner-up finish from the June Ohio Sprint Speedweek event at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, into a victory tonight at the Lou Blaney Memorial featuring the 410 sprint cars. The young man from Texas dominated the main event at Sharon Speedway this evening by starting up front and never looking back; surviving a few cautions and flowing easily through lapped traffic while keeping the likes of Dave Blaney, Brad Sweet, and Danny Smith all at bay. Hafertepe would lead Danville, Indiana native, Danny Smith, across the line, with past World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Champion, Dave Blaney, finishing 3rd.

Although my assumption  may not be accurate, I will continue to assume that Hafertepe will be joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for the rest of the weekend; starting tomorrow night at the Brad Doty Classic at Limalana Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio.

Team Fully Injected had three participants in the pit area tonight. Youngters Brandon Matus and Adam Kekich; along with Danny Holtgraver. Holtgraver would lead his teammates with a top ten finish; crossing the finish line 8th of the 20 A-Main starters. There were 27 entries for the evening’s Memorial event.

Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania held the Mach 1 Chassis 360/358 Challenge this evening with Aaron Ott, who is a regular in the 410ci division in central Pennsylvania, picking up the $3,000 victory. Lance Dewease, another 410 regular and obvious heavy hitter anywhere he goes, settled for 2nd.
