Pittsburgh, PA (April 7th, 2014) – The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) ‘Kings of Dirt’ will be making a visit to the historic Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial, Pennsylvania this Thursday evening, April 10th; kicking-off a three day Mid-Atlantic swing through Pennsylvania and Virginia. Allison Park, Pennsylvania’s very own Colton Flinner will join in on the action this Thursday evening at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; working to earn a starting spot in the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win, ‘PENNational’ main event.
Colton Flinner is certainly no stranger to ‘Dirt’s Monster Half Mile’ at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The pilot of the American Framers, VOX Energy, A.W. Beattie Career Center, Bellisarios Lounge, Randig Towing, Craiger Race Engines, no. 75 super late model is a former two-time crate late model track champion; winning back-to-back titles (2011/2012) before making the switch to super late model competition full-time. Flinner will go head-to-head with the nation’s best this Thursday evening at the ‘PENNational.’ Drivers such as Chris Madden, John Blankenship, Don O’Neal, Jonathan Davenport and Scott Bloomquist are all expected to be sign-in for action. Thursday evening will also mark as Colton Flinner’s 2014 super late model debut. The former FASTRAK touring series feature winner originally planned to kick-off his 2014 campaign at the annual ‘Chiller Thriller’ hosted by Mercer Raceway Park; but made a late-week decision to cancel those plans. Flinner and the entire ‘75’ team will now head to ‘P.P.M.S.’ this week full of focus and full of determination.
“This is going to be huge…we are really excited.” Said Colton Flinner, “We are ready to get the season started…we wanted to be at Mercer this past weekend but we changed our minds…we are most familiar with ‘P.P.M.S.’ so we wanted to be ready for the ‘PENNational’…I can’t thank everyone who is involved enough…we are focused and definitely determined…it’s going to be a really fun year racing super late models!”
Points competition at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway is scheduled to begin this Saturday, April 12th. Six short-track divisions, including the super late models, will be on hand this Saturday evening; kicking-off a new season of weekly racing at the always-fast Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway half-mile. Colton Flinner plans to be a weekly competitor at the ‘P.P.M.S.’ oval during the upcoming racing season; working towards a first-career super late model track championship. The NDRL ‘Kings of Dirt’ will be making an appearance at the Winchester Speedway ($10,000) in Winchester, Virginia on Friday, April 11th; as well as at the Virginia Motor Speedway ($20,000) near Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday, April 12th. All three programs, including the ‘PENNational’ at ‘P.P.M.S.’ on April 10th, make up the NDRL Mid-Atlantic swing during the upcoming weekend.
