FOREST, Ohio (June 10, 2019) – The ‘Bumblebee Express’ was on a mission during the recent weekend, and although the familiar Ray Marshall Motorsports entry was forced to battle through poor main event starting positions, the team prevailed, gaining a grand total of 16 positions in two days. When the weekend dust settled, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports attained a pair of top-five finishes, starting no better than tenth in the process.

Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, visited Moler Raceway Park and Lawrenceburg Speedway during the recent weekend, kicking things off with BOSS Series competition at Moler on Friday, June 7. Although one spot shy of the ultimate goal, Westfall’s efforts were nearly flawless, concluding the evening with an impressive charge from tenth to finish second.

The team’s passing ability certainly transitioned into Saturday, as Westfall once again put on a passing display that included eight positions during main event action, concluding his visit to the Lawrenceburg Speedway highbanks with a rally from 12th to fourth.

“What an effort this weekend,” Ray Marshall explained, owner of the familiar ‘Bumblebee Express’ No. 33M. “If we mastered anything this weekend, it was perseverance. Matt [Westfall] did everything he could to get us a win, but despite coming up just a touch short, his effort was impressive. I’m excited to see what the weekend brings.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2019 campaign with a BOSS Series start at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, on Saturday, June 15. The team will not enter action on Friday, June 14.
