FOREST, Ohio (June 29, 2020) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports continued their 2020 campaign with another doubleheader in the Hoosier State, this time joining the USAC National Sprint Cars at Plymouth Speedway on Friday, June 26, followed by a weekly program on the highbanks of Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, June 27.
Although kicking-off the weekend outside of the top-ten, finishing 13th at Plymouth after starting 17th on the USAC grid, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports persevered and rallied for a podium finish on Saturday night, concluding their visit to Lawrenceburg with a third-place finish after starting from the pole.
Westfall set an early tone at Lawrenceburg and captured a victory during heat race competition.
“It wasn’t a bad weekend for us. We’re always working for ways to improve,” Matt Westfall said, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall enough for this opportunity. We’ve been in high gear the last few weeks, but we’re having fun and enjoying our time. We’re creeping up on that first win of the year. If we keep doing what we’ve been doing, it will happen soon.”
Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2020 campaign with a busy agenda in and around the holiday beginning with midweek USAC National Sprint Cars action at Terre Haute on Wednesday, July 1. Independence Day weekend will continue with a stop at Kokomo Speedway on Friday, followed by BOSS Series competition at Atomic Speedway on Saturday.
Certainly no stranger to BOSS non-wing action, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports are the reigning Series champions, earning four victories along the way.
