Sprint car racing is one of the most exciting and intense form of racing around, it does not matter if it’s winged, non-wing, 360’s or 410.  These drivers and teams show up to the race track every weekend and give it everything they have hoping to come up with a win.  Racing also has its downside, and the downside for these drivers can be severe when it comes to accidents, we have all seen the vicious accidents of sprint car racing and the Injured Drives Fund is here to help the drivers and there families through tough times.

The injured drivers fund was started back in 2008 by Lisa and Vince Magaro, and they wanted to help out Central Pennsylvania driver John Westbrook who was involved in horrible accident at the Williams Grove Speedway.  The response that Lisa and Vince received was tremendous and the loyal sprint car fans graciously donated money to help John Westbrook and his family.

Last years Benefit was put on by Lisa and Vince Magaro along with Kolten Gouse of Kasey Kahne Racing and the event was a huge success.  This year’s event will be promoted by Kolten Gouse with the help of Scott and Donna Gobrecht.  The 2011 Benefit For Injured Drivers event was a huge success and Gouse is looking forward to the 2012 event in late September during one of the most prestigious races on the east coast, the Morgan Hughes Williams Grove National Open.

“Last years event was great, Lisa and Vince Magaro are tremendous people and it was an honor to work with them,” said Gouse.  “Unfortunately Lisa and Vince are unable to help out with this years Benefit Fund but they certainly deserve all of the credit for starting this whole thing and I want to make sure we do everything right.  At the same time Scott and Donna Gobrecht will be helping us out and we all have one common goal to raise as much money as we can for the injured drivers that need to take advantage of this if the times comes.”

The Auction will take place on Saturday, September 29th, 2012 at the Williams Grove Speedway from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.  There will be a BBQ Cookout along with the Auction, the World of Outlaws will also be on hand doing an autograph session, and there also will be driver shirts and giveaways as well.
