The final weekend of back-to-back points racing awaits the stars and cars of the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) Championship Series presented by Engine Pro and KS Sales & Service. Friday, August 3rd at Attica Raceway Park marks the final Friday night of racing this season at the track before they move to Saturday nights to wrap up the season. The series returns to the historic Fremont Speedway on Saturday, August 4th where drama is sure to play out on the track as only four events remain on the F.A.S.T. schedule.
Bryan Sebetto picked up his sixth feature win of the season last Saturday night in Northern Ohio and carries a 36-point lead in the F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup point standings. Second place Craig Mintz will look to outrun Sebetto in hopes of overtaking “Flipper” to become the first two-time winner of the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title. An unfortunate run in with Chris Andrews with just a handful of laps left two weeks ago has put third place Dean Jacobs in a hole and he now sits 88-points back. Current Fremont Speedway points leader Byron Reed moved back into fourth place and 10-points ahead of “The Ohio Gas Man” Phil Gressman to complete the top-five in points.
This weekend also marks the start of the final four events for the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series. The question entering the weekend is can anyone stop the domination of D.J. Foos in the 305 sprint car ranks? Foos has tallied nine total feature wins in 2012 and has won half of the six F.A.S.T. 305 events contested so far. The Buckshot Farms, Automatic Fire Protection, Level Performance backed #11F also leads the points at both Fremont and Attica. Second place Nate Dussel will need to put a handful of cars between himself and Foos over the next couple of events in hopes of being in position to race for the $1,500 to win championship on September 8th. Jamie Miller sits just 6-points back of Dussel in third, while John Ivy and Jason Keckler round out the top-five.
