Bowling Green, Ohio (April 8th, 2013) – After finishing 21st in the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ ‘Spring Nationals’ main event at the Attica Raceway Park back on Saturday, March 30th; Bowling Green, Ohio’s Travis Philo would rebound nicely, and make up for the disappointment by earning not only a heat race victory, but also a top five finish during feature action, at the same facility, one week later. Travis Philo, a former winner at the Attica, Ohio 3/8’s mile dirt oval, would finish fifth (5th) in the ‘410’ main event at Attica Raceway Park on Saturday, April 6th; following Caleb Griffith, Craig Mintz, Dale Blaney, and winner, Sheldon Haudenschild, under the checkers at the conclusion of the 30 lapper.
“It was a great night” said Philo about his top five finish, “Things went great from the start and this team worked really hard the entire night…finishing fifth with that level of competition is awesome…winning our heat race really helped with our confidence leading up to the feature…hopefully we can repeat this result often; or better yet, win a few!”
Travis Philo kicked off Attica’s ‘Fisher Performance Night’ on April 6th by earning a victory during his respective heat race. The Northwest Ohio native would then charge three spots from his outside fourth row starting position to earn a fifth (5th) place finish in the 30 lap A-main. There were twenty-six (26) highly-competitive ‘410’ sprint cars signed in for action during ‘Fisher Performance Night’ at Attica Raceway Park; a field of competitors closely resembling those who were entered in the UNOH All Star ‘Spring Nationals’ event back on March 30th.
Travis Philo now sits fifth (5th) in the current Attica Raceway Park ‘410’ point standings. The pilot of the Control Design Solutions, Banshee Graphics, Kistler Racing Products, ‘5T’ finished tenth (10th) in the Attica Raceway Park standings back in 2012; earning one win at the oval over the course of the season. The 21-year-old will be back in action next Saturday evening, April 13th, at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio for ‘Pepsi Night.’ ‘The Track That Action Built’ is celebrating it’s 62nd year of operation in 2013; and will open it’s doors to competition for the first time on April 13th. The ‘410’ Sprint Cars, 305 Sprint Cars, Dirt Trucks, and Sport Compacts will be on hand for the opener.
