York, PA (August 28th, 2013) – Cory Haas will have an opportunity to repeat ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ success this Friday night, August 30th at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; as the annual Labor Day weekend event is set to take place for the 31st time at the Mechanicsburg half-mile oval. Haas, who is the defending ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ champion at the Williams Grove Speedway, will enter the 2013 edition this Friday night with hopes of earning the $6,000 top prize. The 2013 ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ will feature a single, 30-lap feature for the ‘410’ sprinters instead of the triple-feature format used in former programs. Cory Haas earned the 2012 ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ title, and the $5,000 prize, by capturing the final 20-lap feature win during the former triple-feature format.
Once ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ action is complete, Cory Haas and the entire Mike Barshinger ‘11C’ team will make their way back to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania this Saturday, August 31st for the final points race of Lincoln’s 2013 ‘regular’ season. The Saturday evening program will be Cory Haas’ last opportunity to earn a Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ victory during ‘weekly’ competition. The York, Pennsylvania will enter the final Lincoln Speedway point race sixth (6th) in the current ‘410’ sprint car track championship chase; earning fourteen (14) top-ten finishes, including seven (7) top-five finishes, at the Pigeon Hills 3/8’s mile oval thus far in 2013. Cory Haas and the Mike Barshinger ‘11C’ team will end their Labor Day weekend with ‘410’ action back at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Sunday, September 1st. The Sunday evening Williams Grove program will be highlighted with the annual ‘Billy Kimmel Memorial.’ Haas finds himself tenth (10th) in the current Williams Grove Speedway ‘410’ driver standings; with one (1) victory at the world-famous speedway in 2013.
