“STEEL CITY ROULETTE” POTENTIALLY ADDS $5,000 CASH TO SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL TOUR’S “STEEL CITY 100” AT PITTSBURGH JUNE 8
March 6, 2014
(By Mike Leone) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Imperial, PA)…A little over two months ago, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone announced a new event would take place in 2014. The “Steel City 100” at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 8 will feature the Northeast’s first ever 100-lap Crate Late Model race. The Sweeney Tour event will pay $4,000 to-win, $300 to-start with an expanded 30-car starting field!

When the event was announced, series officials promised additional exciting promotions would be added around this marquee’ event. One such now being revealed is the “Steel City Roulette” featuring a potential $5,000 in cash giveaways to the 30-event starters! In addition to the feature purse money (posted below), one lucky driver in the starting field would win a $1,000 bonus with each driver receiving at least a $50 bonus (see potential bonus monies posted below)!

RUSH will raise the goal of $5,000 through the sale of lap sponsors for the 100-lap event at $50 per lap. The monies then will be pooled together and each driver that qualifies for the feature will be matched with a fan to draw for each driver’s bonus money prize during driver introductions with the number one being the $1,000 prize! The fan that draws the number one will receive $100 cash presented by Miley Budget Truck & Cruise America Motorhome Rental. Additional fan interaction activities and prizes will be announced in the future.

“We wanted to do something special around this history-making event at The Monster Half-Mile,” explained Emig. “Even though we are selling lap sponsors per say, we didn’t want to see a few drivers take all of the monies. This way even if a driver has trouble and drops out of the event finishing 30th, he may have drawn the one and would take home $1,300! Hopefully this gives even more racers incentive to compete in this prestigious event.”

The “Steel City 100” show will feature a 6 p.m. start time with the goal to have the show done in a timely fashion to allow travelers to be on their way home at a reasonable hour. Anyone wishing to get involved with this event by purchasing a lap should contact the RUSH Office at 724-964-9300 or e-mail info@rushracingseries.com.

This sets up a huge weekend for the Sweeney Touring Series as the night before the “Steel City 100” at Pittsburgh will be the “Bill Hendren Memorial” at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pa. paying $2,000 to-win (Saturday, June 7)! A sweep of the weekend events including the Bobby Lake Motorsports “Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat” program could earn a driver $7,250 in addition to any other contingencies!
