Alan Krimes Earns Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ Championship

Denver, PA (August 31st, 2014) – It is official; Alan Krimes is the 2014 Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ sprint car track champion. Months and months of hard work and dedication finally paid off, as the Denver, Pennsylvania native used a top-five feature finish during the final night of points competition to clinch the career-first championship. Krimes, who pilots the Midnite Antiques, Conestoga Valley Garage, Wayne Corini, Krimes Racing Engines, VRP Shocks, no. 87 ‘410’ sprinter, finished fifth officially on Saturday night, August 30th at the Lincoln Speedway oval; after starting the 25-lapper from the inside of the tenth row. The hard-charge to fifth on Saturday night, plus two victories, eight top-five finishes and thirteen top-ten finishes over the course of the 2014 season at the Abbottstown facility, allowed the championship goal to become a reality. Alan Krimes entered the final points night with a 260 point cushion. The top-five finish was more than enough to ‘seal the deal.’
Alan Krimes and the entire ‘87’ operation will return to competition in central Pennsylvania later this evening, Sunday, August 31st at the Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The ‘Billy Kimmel Memorial’ for the ‘410’ sprint cars is on deck at the world-famous half-mile.
