Maytown, PA (September 2nd, 2014) – Up next on the 2014 schedule for Ryan Wilson is the 47th Annual ‘Tuscarora 50’ at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. The Juniata County half-mile oval will host back-to-back nights of competition during the upcoming ‘Tuscarora 50’ weekend; beginning this Friday evening, September 5th. The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions sanctioned event will feature not only the best that central Pennsylvania has to offer, but also a talented roster of UNOH All Star travelers; including national point leader, Dale Blaney. Ryan Wilson will be in action during both nights of the ‘Tuscarora 50’ weekend; looking to sweep the two-day crown jewel event, and etch his name into the record books permanently. The 47th edition of the ‘Tuscarora 50’ officially begins this Friday night, September 5th with the ‘Night Before The 50’ preliminary program. Friday night’s preliminary main event will go 30 laps in distance, awarding $5,000 to the winner.
Ryan Wilson will continue his 2014 ‘Tuscarora 50’ campaign on Saturday evening, September 6th back at the Port Royal Speedway. The 50-lap finale will be the evening highlight on Saturday; offering a $12,000 payday, and $500 just to start. Wilson, who pilots the Pork – Be Inspired, Dent Tech, Delco Designs, Thru It All Body Shop, Obers Firewood, Subway of Manchester, Doncin Transport, Dustin Nagy Excavating, no. 29 ‘410’ sprinter, has never won a ‘410’ sprint car main event at the Port Royal Speedway, but has been victorious at ‘The Speed Palace’ in the past. The Maytown, Pennsylvania native earned a URC ‘360’ sprint car main event win at the fairgrounds just a few seasons ago. Wilson will have a few opportunities to trump that URC victory this weekend, and potentially earn a near $20,000. Those interested in learning more about the upcoming ‘Tuscarora 50’ weekend at the Port Royal Speedway should visit the venue live on the web at www.portroyalspeedway.com.
The Pork-Be Inspired ‘29’ team earned a podium finish at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania during their most recent feature start. Wilson led the first 14 laps of the 25-lap main event on August 30th before surrendering the top spot; he would hang on to finish third, officially. The August 30th program was the final night of points at the Pigeon Hills oval, with Wilson ending his ‘regular’ season at the Lincoln Speedway with two top-five finishes and three top-ten finishes. Ryan Wilson’s other most recent start was at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania back on Friday night, August 29th; during the 32nd Annual ‘Jack Gunn Memorial.’ Wilson would qualify, and be scored 17th during the $6,000-to-win ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ main event.
