Pittsburgh, PA (September 29th, 2014) – Jared Miley earned his ninth super late model victory of the 2014 season on Saturday evening, September 27th at the Eriez Speedway near Erie, Pennsylvania. Miley, who pilots the Jared Miley Racing, Colussy Chevrolet, Octane Graphix, Brougher’s Machine Shop, Rocket Chassis, FullyInjected.com, no. H1 super late model, earned the main event win during the finale of the two-day ‘September Sweep’ weekend; which featured two complete programs for the super late models on Friday and Saturday, September 26th & 27th. The weekend featured the region’s finest dirt late model competitors, including former national touring star, Tim Fuller.
After finishing tenth during the $4,000-to-win ‘September Sweep’ preliminary on Friday night, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native would return to the Eriez Speedway oval on Saturday with intentions to improve greatly on his recent top-ten performance. Miley would finish second during heat race competition to kick-off the ‘September Sweep’ weekend finale on Saturday, allowing the former Lernerville Speedway track champion to start on the inside of row number two for the $6,000-to-win main event. Miley would eventually dominate the 50-lap finale on Saturday night; holding-off Tim Fuller while lapping the field up to seventh place to secure the $6,000 top prize.
“Great way to end the weekend!” said Matt Miley; Jared Miley’s brother and crew chief, “Friday night we gambled on a few different things as far as set up is concerned and we learned a lot…on Saturday, we got the car back where it needed to be and things went our way…Eriez Speedway has been really good to us this year…we’ll definitely be coming back!”
Jared Miley and the entire Jared Miley Racing ‘H1’ operation will take the upcoming weekend off before returning to competition on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 9th, 10th & 11th at the McKean County Raceway near East Smethport, Pennsylvania. The 9th Annual Jim Butler Memorial Fall Classic is on tap at the McKean County Raceway oval during the October 9th – 11th weekend; featuring a full weekend of super late model competition.
