Pittsburgh, PA (October 15th, 2014) – After missing the ‘Fall Classic’ at NDRL’s McKean County Raceway due to illness, ‘The Jet’ Jared Miley will be back on track this weekend at the Portsmouth Raceway Park near Portsmouth, Ohio; ready to take on the best super late model competitors in the country at the Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship presented by NAPA Auto Parts. The 2014 edition of the prestigious Dirt Track World Championship, sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, will take shape this Friday and Saturday, October 17th & 18th; with qualifying time trials and heat race action set to happen on Friday evening, October 17th. Like in previous editions, the 2014 Dirt Track World Championship will award a $50,000 pay day on Saturday night. Although Miley was forced to miss the most recent weekend due to illness, the team still feels confident heading into one of the most sought after events of the season.
“We were expected to be at McKean last weekend, but Jared ended up getting pretty sick” said Matt Miley; Jared Miley’s brother and crew chief, “We decided to let him rest up for the weekend and just get ready for the Dirt Track World Championship…the best in the business will be there…this is a great way for us to see where we stand…we’ve been hitting our marks this year and things have been going our way…we are going to treat this weekend like any other weekend and work towards getting into the main event.”

H1 super late model team, will enter the upcoming weekend at Portsmouth Raceway Park with a full load of confidence and momentum. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based operation has earned nine super late model victories thus far in 2014; including one at the recent ‘September Sweep’ event at Eriez Speedway in Erie, Pennsylvania worth $6,000. Miley will search for a career-first ‘national level’ victory this weekend.
“Our goal this weekend is to make it into the big show and contend for a win; that’s our goal at every race” explained Matt Miley, “We don’t have a lot left on our 2014 schedule, so to go out on top would be more than huge; especially against a field of cars like they are going to have there this weekend…we are going to work as hard as we can and see what we can do!”
