T.J. Michael Continues to Adjust to ‘410’ Racing
Potential Ohio/Pennsylvania Weekend Ahead for ‘8M’ Team
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
Fremont, Ohio (June 9th, 2015) – Despite the ‘tough times’ that typically accompany being a rookie, Texas native T.J. Michael continues to display confidence. ‘The Texas Traveler’ is still navigating his first full year of ‘410’ sprint car competition; spending a vast majority of his weekends racing in northwestern Ohio. Michael joins some of the toughest local competition in the country, making a rookie campaign even more mentally difficult. During his most recent weekend, Michael visited the Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway; finishing 16th during main event action on Friday, June 5th at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, followed by a 17th place performance on Saturday, June 6th at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. Although the results may express differently, Michael continues to gain valuable experience and hopes to eventually be a winning threat each and every weekend.
“It’s a tough area to race in but that is what I need” said T.J. Michael, “There are a lot of great local drivers and teams that race at Attica and Fremont every weekend…when a series comes in and races with us, our local guys are always working and finishing towards the front…I still have a lot to learn…we just need to keep racing as much as we can…that is the only way we are going to learn…we put the negative results behind us and keep looking ahead to the next race.”
The Plano, Texas native, who calls Fremont, Ohio home during the racing season, will continue his ‘410’ sprint car campaign this Friday and Saturday, June 12th & 13th. The pilot of the Advanced Cast Stone, Fremont Fence Company, Kear’s Speed Shop, Snap-On, ‘8M’ sprint car will visit the Attica Raceway Park on Friday evening, June 12th; joining the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) ‘410’ Championship Series for round nine of their 2015 season. Michael is a former winner at the Attica bullring; conquering ‘305’ sprint car main event action back in April of this year.
Depending on what Mother Nature has in store, T.J. Michael will either make a trip east to the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 13th, or make the short trip across the street to the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. Mercer Raceway Park will host the ‘Auto Racing For Kids’ program on Saturday evening awarding $3,000 to the main event winner. Fremont Speedway will play host to another round of F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series competition. A decision regarding the weekend will be settled later in the week.
“Not real sure what we will get into this weekend” said T.J. Michael, “We plan to be at Attica on Friday, but still haven’t decided what we are doing on Saturday…we visited Mercer once already this year and finished tenth…I liked it there and wanted to go back…this weekend is a good opportunity to visit there with the extra money on the line…we’ll probably wait and see what the weather does and make a late decision…regardless, we hope to have a great two days of racing.”
T.J. Michael has three victories thus far in 2015, with all three occurring during ‘305’ sprint car competition. ‘The Texas Traveler’ is still searching for that career-first ‘410’ main event win.
