AJ Flick and Mike Pegher gets second wins of 2015 in wild features on PCTC Night
Rex King Jr. and Terry Young make lead passes, then hold off hardchargers
Sarver, PA (August 7, 2015) The Action Track lived up to its billing again tonight with a pair of wild features in the Peoples TWP Sprints and Precise Late Models. All Star Danny Holtgraver split front row starters Dan Kuriger and Ralph Spithaler to take the early lead, only to be passed by a lightning fast Brandon Spithaler in heavy lapped traffic on lap 11. On the first lap 21 restart, Brandon Spithaler made an abrupt right to the pit entrance in turn three as he led the field to the green flag. Danny Holtgraver inherited the lead, but was riding a very low left rear which came off the rim when he took the green flag. Second running Dan Kuriger had to take evasive action to avoid contact, but AJ Flick shot low into turns one & two to take the lead and score his second win of the season. The heartbreak continued in the Precise Late Models as early leader Michael Norris broke battling Alex Ferree for the lead and rolled into the pits in turn four. A few laps later, Ferree jumped the cushion in one & two, allowing Mike Pegher Jr. to shoot underneath and into the lead down the back straightaway. Pegher rolled on to his second win of the season as well.
Rex King Jr. ran down 18-lap leader Kevin Bolland then held off a hard charging Mat Williamson whom came from the tail of the feature line-up due to winning three straight Fab4 Fueled by Turner’s features in the Diehl Mods. Terry Young, then, passed early leader Wayne Carbo and held off All Time division wins leader Joe Kelley to score his second Pic-A-Part Sportsman feature of 2015.
