By Fully Injected Motorsports:
Elida, Ohio (February 9, 2016) – “Mad Max” Stambaugh will chase the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders championship with family-owned operation in 2016. The Elida, Ohio, native, who finished second in the final NRA Sprint Invaders standings in 2015 with two main event wins, will attempt to outdo his recent campaign and capture a career-first NRA title. The Ohio-based 360 sprint car series boasts a 24-race schedule in 2016, visiting four tracks in areas of Ohio and Indiana. The NRA Sprint Invaders will kick-off the season on Friday, April 15, at Limaland Motorsports Park near Lima, Ohio.
“We came close last year, so that makes me even more determined to win the NRA title in 2016” Max Stambaugh explained, “We put together a family deal for this season. It’s a great opportunity for me and I can’t thank those enough who helped me put it together.”
Stambaugh, who will pilot the Elwer Fence, Specialized Therapy, Biggies Coast to Coast, Triple JJJ, Dale’s Concrete, Quality Welding Fab, Full Effect Lawn Mowing, No. 5M machine in 2016, also plans to make select 410 sprint car appearances during the upcoming year; joining select series such as the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, Kistler Racing Products FAST Series and Great Lakes Super Sprints. Despite the limited number of starts, “Mad Max” earned two 410ci victories in 2015. The 20-year-old conquered action at the Butler “Battlegrounds” Speedway near Quincy, Michigan, and again at the I-96 Speedway near Lake Odessa, Michigan.
“We still want to fit 410 racing into our schedule whenever we can” explained Stambaugh, “I have a few other opportunities that may come into play this year involving the 410 portion of our schedule, but those are still being put together. It’s going to be an exciting year. My goal is to race as much as I can.”
Stambaugh will officially launch his 2016 campaign on Friday evening, March 25, at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. “Mad Max” will join the long list of competitive 410 sprint regulars during the Attica season opener, working to gain valuable track time before his NRA title chase begins in mid-April.
“The Attica opener will be first on our list” Stambaugh said, “The NRA title has all of my focus this year, but that won’t keep us from racing during times it’s available. Hopefully we can put ourselves in a good position right from the start and work for a solid finish during our first night out.”
