Brent Marks Finishes Eleventh During First PA Start of 2016;
Will Resume Campaign at Port Royal Speedway on March 12

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (March 7, 2016) – The “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks made his first Pennsylvania start of the 2016 season on Sunday afternoon, March 6, and charged home with an 11th place finish. Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M, rallied ahead from an eighth row starting position, racing inside the top-ten at one point during the 25-lapper before crossing under the final checkers 11th in the running order. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native finished sixth during heat race competition; two spots shy of a feature redraw position.
“The car was good all day for sure” Brent Marks explained, “Drew a bad pill to start that day and that really hurt us. The track was pretty narrow during the heats which made it hard to pass…put us in the back of the feature since we missed the redraw. Once we got going, we were fast. I was racing inside the top-ten but lost a few spots during the last restart. We’ll put this one behind us and look forward to getting back to work next weekend.”
Brent Marks will return to competition on Saturday evening, March 12, at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. The “Speed Palace” will officially open its doors for the first time in 2016 on Saturday evening, welcoming the 410 sprinters for a potential $3,500 payday. Marks is a recent winner at the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile and will look to repeat success this weekend. The “Missile” earned victories during the 2015 Labor Day Class, Night Before the 50 and Tuscarora 50.
“Very excited to make our way back to Port Royal Speedway” Marks said, “We were very good there during the second part of 2015. I’m confident that we can get our first win of the season this weekend during their opening program.”
