Danny Dietrich Earns Pair of Top-Fives During Tuscarora Weekend, The Grove and Selinsgrove Next!
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, PA. (September 12, 2016) – “Double D” Danny Dietrich advanced a total of 12 positions during his Tuscarora weekend campaign at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, driving to a pair of top-five performances on Friday and Saturday, September 9-10. The pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, No. 48 entry charged from 13th to fifth during the Night Before The Tuscarora 50 main event to kick off the historic weekend at the “Speed Palace,” all before advancing from ninth to fifth during the 50-lap, $12,000-to-win, Tuscarora 50 finale.
“I think we had a pretty good weekend. Anytime you can come out of a weekend like that with two solid finishes says a lot about the team you’re with,” Dietrich said. “On Friday, we needed a little better qualifying effort, and on Saturday, we were at the mercy of the redraw. We did everything we could to improve. We took some notes and evaluated the whole weekend. Our goal is to find a little bit of that speed that we are missing and work to get it done this weekend.”
Danny Dietrich will spend his upcoming weekend at a pair of Central Pennsylvania “Groves,” beginning with competition at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, September 16. A regular program for the 410 sprint cars will be on the Friday night agenda, awarding $3,600 to the main event winner. Dietrich is currently third in the Williams Grove Speedway track championship chase, earning one victory thus far in 2016.
“Double D” will spend Saturday evening, September 17, back at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, participating in the Jim Nace Memorial/34th Annual National Open for 410 sprint cars. The 35-lap tribute program will award an $8,000 winner’s share, as well as $600 to each starter. Dietrich is the defending Jim Nace Memorial/National Open champion; his first-ever victory at the Selinsgrove Speedway half-mile. The Gettysburg native has one Selinsgrove Speedway win in 2016, out dueling the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions and Pennsylvania Posse on April 24.
“I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work and support,” Dietrich said. “It has been a long and fun season. We have about 15 races left on our schedule. We’ll do whatever we can to maximize our speed and get ourselves back in victory lane.”
