Zearfoss Aims for Positive Results During National Open Tune-up and Dirt Classic
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, Pa. (September 20, 2016) – After what proved to be a weekend full of misfortune, the victim of mechanical issues on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17, during competition at Williams Grove Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss will sideline his distress and begin working on ways to improve; a perfect proposition before the upcoming World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series invasion into Central Pennsylvania.
“We had a fast car all weekend, but we just had a lot of little, and potentially big things, go wrong that kept us from racing at our potential,” Zearfoss explained. “During the feature at Williams Grove, I felt a bad vibration, so I had no choice but to pull off. On Saturday at Selinsgrove, we had some fuel line issues that forced us to start at the tail. Luckily, I have a great crew that found the problem. We ended up charging to 11th. Either way, we have to put those results behind us and get ready for big test weekend in Central Pennsylvania.”
Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, Masters Mechanical Insulation, Comprehensive Test and Balance, Berkebile Oil Company, No. 3z machine, will kick-off his upcoming weekend schedule with the Williams Grove Speedway National Open Tune-up on Friday night, September 23. The tune-up, featuring a full, World of Outlaws format, will give Pennsylvania Posse teams like Brock Zearfoss Racing one last opportunity to fine-tune their operations. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will re-occupy the world-famous Mechanicsburg half-mile on Thursday through Saturday, September 29 – October 1, for the 54th running of the Champion Racing Oil National Open worth $50,000.
Zearfoss will continue his 2016 campaign on Saturday evening, September 24, at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The highly anticipated Dirt Classic will highlight competition at the “Fabulous” Pigeon Hills venue, awarding a $20,000 top prize, as well as $1,000-to-start.
“We have a busy next few weekends, but that doesn’t hurt our focus,” Zearfoss explained. “We really want to take advantage of these next few races. The tune-up is really important to us. We have some things we want to try and hopefully we can use our notes to our advantage next weekend with the Outlaws arrive. We’ll have a similar goal during the Dirt Classic; race as hard as we can and take advantage of that big payout. We’ll see what we can do.”
Brock Zearfoss will enter the weekend with two victories on the season; one at Williams Grove Speedway and one at Port Royal Speedway.
