Stambaugh rallies for top-ten during Ohio Sprint Speedweek make-up feature; Posse Country invasion ahead
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
ELIDA, OH (September 5, 2017) – Concluding a Labor Day weekend schedule that consisted of three Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions main events at two different Ohio facilities, “Mad Max” Stambaugh ended the long, holiday weekend with one top-ten finish, rallying from the outside of row six to finish ninth during Attica Raceway Park’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket make-up feature on Saturday, September 2. It was Stambaugh’s ninth top-ten finish of the 2017 season during Arctic Cat All Star competition.
In addition to his top-ten performance at the Attica high banks, Stambaugh also qualified for the $10,000-to-win, Pete Jacobs Memorial program at Wayne County Speedway on Sunday, September 3. The Elida, Ohio, native was scored 17th; there were 33 teams entered for action.
“The weekend could have went a little better,” Stambaugh said, pilot of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Fastenal of Kenton/No. 33M. “I think we have the potential to be inside the top-ten every night, but things don’t always go as planned. Regardless, I’m thankful for this opportunity. Ray Marshall gives me the opportunity to live out my dream. We’ve been having a blast this year. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
The top Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year contender will now pack shop and head east, ready to join the notorious Pennsylvania Posse in Central Pennsylvania for back-to-back nights of competition at the legendary Port Royal Speedway. The 50th Annual Tuscarora 50 will headline competition at the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile during the upcoming weekend, complete with two, full, Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions programs, concluding with the 50-lap, $50,000-to-win, Tuscarora 50 finale on Saturday evening, September 9. The weekend will activate officially on Friday, September 8, with the annual Night Before The 50 preliminary program awarding $5,000.
Stambaugh qualified for main event competition during his most recent visit to the Port Royal “Speed Palace,” finishing 19th, officially, during the Keith Kauffman Classic in late April.
