Max Stambaugh enjoys first Tuscarora; $8,000 on the line at Selinsgrove

ELIDA, OH (September 12, 2017) – Despite results reading otherwise, Max Stambaugh’s visit to Port Royal (PA) Speedway for the 50th Annual Tuscarora 50 was a positive experience. The two-day program, comprised of two, full Arctic Cat All Star events including the 50th Annual Tuscarora 50 worth $50,000, featured not only the Arctic Cat All Stars and Pennsylvania’s finest, but also a handful of national invaders. Stambaugh represented the Arctic Cat All Star fan base well, and although he was forced to use a Series provisional to start the 50-lap finale, much was learned over the course of the two days.
“It was a long weekend, but an enjoyable weekend. Anytime you have the opportunity to race with some of the best in the world, you have to take advantage of it. Our results lacked some, but we learned a lot and that is what’s most important,” Max Stambaugh explained. “Our notebook is a little thin when it comes to racing on big half-miles, but that keeps changing. We keep building on what we already know. It takes time. This is my first or second time visiting a lot of these places. We’ll get to where we need to be soon.”
Furthering a trend of Arctic Cat All Star starts in Central Pennsylvania, “Mad Max” Stambaugh will continue his 2017 rookie campaign with “America’s Series” with another trip to the Keystone State, this time paying a visit to the Selinsgrove Speedway near Selinsgrove, as well as the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway in Bedford. The September 16-17 road trip will be headlined with the 35th Annual Jim Nace Memorial/National Open worth $8,000 at Selinsgrove; the final event on the track’s 2017 schedule.
“I can’t thank Ray Marshall enough for these opportunities,” Stambaugh said, pilot of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Fastenal of Kenton/No. 33M. “We’ve been having a lot of fun this year. We don’t have a lot of season left. I hope to make the last few weeks count.”
