“Mad Max” hard charges for top-ten during Arctic Cat All Star season finale
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
ELIDA, OH (October 16, 2017) – Max Stambaugh’s rookie campaign with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions ended on a high note. Not only did the Elida native score a top-ten finish at Eldora Speedway, but he did so in fantastic fashion; hard charging from 20th on the grid to finish tenth during a non-stop, 30-lapper. Stambaugh’s performance was solid enough to earn Hard Charger honors.
“Well, it’s over. I’m proud to say we completed our first season with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions,” Stambaugh said. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team enough for this opportunity. It hasn’t been an easy path for us, but to come out as the leading rookie is pretty exciting. I learned a lot this season, as well as made some great connections that I can carry forward. I’m not sure what the future has planned yet, but we’ll have something finalized as soon as possible.”
Stambaugh’s final weekend of Arctic Cat All Star competition ignited officially with a visit to the Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, on Friday, October 13. “Double Down at Mansfield,” featuring two, full Arctic Cat All Star features, resulted in a success story for Stambaugh and Ray Marshall Motorsports, earning a 12th place performance, as well as a top-ten; seventh during the evening’s make-up feature from May 28.
“Mad Max” accumulated 13 top-ten finishes in 40 main event starts with Ray Marshall Motorsports in 2017, ending the year fourth in the final Arctic Cat All Star driver standings.
“I want to take a minute to thank all of our great partners for making this season possible,” Stambaugh included. “The names on our car are the most important puzzle pieces. We had a demanding schedule this season, but none of that would have been possible without their help. My goal is to continue what I’m doing and compete with the Arctic Cat All Stars in the future. Hopefully that is the case.”
