Cory Haas eighth during Walt Dyer Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway

YORK, Pa. (May 29, 2018) – Despite being interrupted by Mother Nature on Saturday during his visit to the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway, York’s Cory Haas made the most of his holiday weekend sweep of Central Pennsylvania, earning one top-ten performance, as well as qualifying for one of the state’s most prestigious, non-sanctioned events.
Haas, pilot of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Eagle Evergreens/Bricker’s/DMI/Bulldog Rear Ends/York PB Truss/No. 39 sprint car, highlighted his Memorial Day weekend campaign with an eighth place finish during the Walt Dyer Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 25. For Haas, the top-ten only pads an impressive Williams Grove resume that includes one victory in 2018, that occurring on April 6.
In addition to his top-ten finish at the world-famous paperclip, Haas qualified for the annual Bob Weikert Memorial main event at Port Royal Speedway. The second generation racer was scored 19th; he did not finish.
“Not a bad weekend for our team. It would be nice to get a show in at Lincoln,” Cory Haas said. “We’re always trying to figure out ways to make ourselves a little bit faster. Williams Grove was a little tricky on Friday. We were able to finish where we started. The racing groove was pretty narrow. You had to be careful not to slip out of it. Regardless, we have a long season ahead of us. Hopefully we can get some weather-free weekends in here pretty directly.”
In routine fashion, Cory Haas will return to competition this Friday and Saturday, June 1 & 2, with visits to Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway, respectively.
