Zearfoss earns podium run during All Star trip to Lebanon Valley Speedway; Central PA trek ahead
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, Pa. (August 20, 2018) – After a pair of All Star Circuit of Champions cancellations due to Mother Nature’s inability to cooperate, Brock Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports finally had an opportunity to make their All Star Circuit of Champions debut, joining the regional travelers at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y., on Sunday, August 19.
The trip to the ‘Valley of Speed’ proved successful for the reigning Port Royal Speedway track champion, not only securing a runner-up finish for new car owner, Rick Rogers, but doing so from the inside of row four.
Just as dramatic as it was impressive, Zearfoss nearly earned the $7,000 top prize on Sunday night, but the newly hired gun was unable to capitalize on a green-white-checkered finish. A caution on lap 24 set-up the two-lap dash, placing Zearfoss right on the tail tank of race leader, Gerard McIntyre. Although strong, McIntyre proved to be just as strong, pulling away to a near-one second advantage by the final checkers.
“We were close, that’s for sure,” Brock Zearfoss said, who owns two victories in 2018. “Getting an All Star win our first night out with the Series was our ultimate goal, but we’ll take this runner-up finish and run with it. I can’t thank my team and Rick Rogers enough for this opportunity. It has been a pleasure working with these guys so far. I’m sure things are only going to get better.”
With All Star action cancelled at Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday, August 18, Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports made the trip to Port Royal Speedway. Certainly no stranger to action at the ‘Speed Palace,’ Zearfoss rallied from 13th to finish seventh.
Up next on the schedule, Brock Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports will continue their 2018 campaign with a four-pack of All Star Circuit of Champions events in Pennsylvania Posse Country, following the Series to Grandview Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, and BAPS Motor Speedway on Thursday through Sunday, August 23-26, respectively. The weekend will be highlighted with twin 20-lap features at The Grove on Friday night. Each of the Jack Gunn Memorial features will award a $4,000 top prize.
