FREMONT, Ohio (August 19, 2019) – Although finishing short of attaining his second victory of the 2019 season, the ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael put on an impressive display during action at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, August 16, and rallied from 15th to finish sixth. The passing exhibition not only landed the Plano, Texas-native another mark in his season’s top-ten column, but the performance also solidified Michael as the evening’s hard charger, an award which is given to the driver who advances the most feature positions.
Impressive enough, the driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Soul Fully Rooted/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car was well on his way to a second consecutive top-ten performance during action one night later at Wayne County Speedway, but a flat tire ended all momentum. The flat occurred as Michael was making a bid for the third spot.
“Those things happen. We’ll shake that off and move forward. We know how fast we were,” T.J. Michael said, who earned a first-ever 410c.i. victory during Rick Ferkel Classic action at Waynesfield on August 2. “Things are good right now. Our confidence is high, and so is our momentum. I’m excited to see how these new few weeks unfold.”
T.J. Michael will continue his 2019 campaign with another doubleheader in the Buckeye State, first returning to Attica Raceway Park on Friday, August 23.
Pending a late week decision, Michael will either return to Wayne County Speedway on Saturday, August 24, or go further east to Sharon Speedway.
