GETTYSBURG, Pa. (September 23, 2019) – Despite launching his four-race weekend on a bad note, ultimately ending Kevin Gobrecht Classic action at BAPS Motor Speedway upside-down, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich rebounded in a big way and rattled off three consecutive top-ten performances during All Star Circuit of Champions competition, two of which ending one spot shy of the ultimate prize.
Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car, ignited his three-race All Star sweep with a ninth place finish during the annual Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 20.
Bettering himself yet again, Dietrich finished second during the $20,000-to-win Dirt Classic 6 at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 21. Not deterred by his starting position, Dietrich’s runner-up outcome was the product of row nine, eventually driving by Aaron Reutzel on the final circuit to solidify the runner-up finish.
Dietrich’s visit to Hagerstown Speedway on Sunday, September 22, also resulted in a runner-up finish, this time advancing one position after starting third on the grid.
“It was a productive weekend for our team. I’m starting to think all we know how to do is finish second,” Danny Dietrich laughed, who owns 14 victories in 2019. “Hats off to everyone involved. To start the weekend with a torn up race car is not how we wanted to get things going, but we turned it all around in a hurry.”
Danny Dietrich will continue his 2019 campaign with another doubleheader in Central Pennsylvania, once again returning to Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway, respectively. Highlighting his two-race weekend, Williams Grove will host a World of Outlaws Tune-up on Friday, September 27, awarding an $8,000 top prize. The Greatest Show On Dirt will invade The Grove for the final time in 2019 the following weekend; the National Open will award a $65,000 prize.
