JONESTOWN, Pa. (March 21, 2022) – Despite his weekend in the Golden State ultimately cut short due to Mother Nature, losing Saturday’s visit to Ocean Speedway as the result of persistent showers, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss made the best of his situation and rallied big on Friday night at Merced Speedway in Merced, California, eventually translating an eighth-row starting position into a 13th-place finish. The former Port Royal Speedway champion and Williams Grove Speedway Outlaw winner kicked-off the evening program with a fifth-place finish in his respective heat race; there were over 30 cars in attendance.
Although not adding to his season’s top-ten count, earning two in Cotton Bowl Speedway’s Texas Two-Step contested in early March, Zearfoss is confident, already aiming big on upcoming visits to Bakersfield and Perris.
“It’s been a fun trip through California so far, just a lot different than what I’m used to back home. But, if there’s anything we’ve learned while racing out here on the road with the Outlaws, it’s that we have to adapt quickly, and we’ve been getting very good at that. We have a strong notebook and that’s what’s most important,” Zearfoss said, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, Berkebile Oil Company, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car. “Hats off to my team for all of their hard work. It’s not easy being out here and this far from home for so long, but we’re learning and we’re enjoying ourselves.”
ON DECK:
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their sophomore campaign with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series with another action-packed weekend in the Golden State, this time visiting Bakersfield Speedway in Bakersfield, California, and Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, California, on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26.
