BUTLER, Pa. (March 11, 2024) – It was a sound two days in the Sooner State for Butler, Pennsylvania’s Cullen Hutchison, not only securing back-to-back A-Main starts in Port City Raceway’s coveted Outlaw Nationals, but the 12-year-old, who celebrated a birthday Sunday, March 10, capped all competition with an eighth-place score in the Restricted weekend finale, jumpstarting preliminary action with a heat race triumph.
Hutchison, ace of the BKR, Classic Ink USA Screenprinting & Embroidery, E2 Apparel, Open Joist, No. 21 Restricted Micro, is now a ten-time top-ten finisher in 2024, officially adding Oklahoma to a growing list that already includes Illinois and Florida.
The Western Pennsylvania youngster was on pace for a top-five in the Outlaw Nationals weekend opener on Saturday, March 9, but a slight hiccup, a spin with four remaining, forced Hutchison to the back of the running order; he was ultimately scored 17th.
“It was a fun trip to Tulsa and I’m glad we went. There was a lot of great competition, so to be in the mix both nights is special,” Hutchison, a recent Midwest Winter Nationals winner in Duquoin, Illinois, stated. “A big thanks to my team for all of their hard work. We have a short turnaround this week with racing again on Wednesday, but we’ll be ready.”
ON DECK:
Cullen Hutchison and BKR will continue their 2024 agenda with a return visit to Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, North Carolina, on Wednesday, March 13 – they will compete in the Non-Wing division.
