SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (March 25, 2024) – It was a return trip to the Lone Star State for Scotty Thiel and Team 73, continuing their 2024 campaign with a one night visit to Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas, on Saturday, March 23. Joining the Greatest Show On Dirt, Thiel concluded the 35-lap contest in the 13th position, kicking things off from row six after earning his way into the big dance via third-place finish during heat race competition.
Although just shy of attaining his first top-ten performance of the season, Thiel’s drive was sound, battling ahead as far as ninth before fading to 13th in the late stages of the program.
“I was pretty confident that we had a top ten car, maybe even more,” Thiel, ace of the Gibbsville Cheese, Professional Plating Inc, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Total Restoration Services, Scott Thiel Builders, Lift Pro, Schmidts Landscaping, Complete Water, No. 73 sprint car, noted. “It was getting tough to turn after the feature’s last restart…I think our front end was packed with mud. Regardless, a pretty solid trip. Still working out the kinks, but we’re getting closer.
“A special thanks to Diamond Pools for their support and hospitality while in Texas,” Thiel added. “They really helped us make this trip possible and we’re grateful.”

Scotty Thiel and Team 73 will continue their 2024 campaign with another World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series double, this time visiting Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday and Saturday, March 29-30.
